Accessibility Statement

Our commitment

Genesis Desktop is made for children of many ages and abilities, and for the parents and teachers who guide them. We want every child to be able to read, create and play in the garden — and we treat accessibility as ongoing product work, not a checkbox. This website aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.

Accessibility in the product

Genesis Desktop includes features designed with accessibility in mind:

  • Built-in read-aloud narration — the Library, Bible, Write and Calculator apps can read content aloud with natural offline voices, supporting early and struggling readers.
  • Large, high-contrast interfaces — big buttons, generous type sizes and simple layouts throughout the child environment.
  • Calm by design — no flashing advertising, no autoplaying surprises, and games without punishing timers in the Learning suite.
  • Touch and keyboard friendly — major apps and many games work with touchscreens as well as mouse and keyboard.
  • Predictable navigation — the same home grid, the same way back, everywhere.

Known limitations

Some arcade games rely on colour and quick visual feedback and may be difficult with certain visual or motor impairments; we're expanding input options over time. Third-party content that parents or teachers approve (websites, YouTube videos) carries the accessibility of its original publisher.

Tell us what you need

If you or your child hit an accessibility barrier anywhere in Genesis Desktop or on this website, please tell us — it goes straight onto the product roadmap. Email [email protected] or call 1 (403) 607-9616, and we'll respond within five business days.
